We are seeking a highly capable Part-Time Associate to support a strategic advisory engagement focused on the formation and chartering of a de novo bank. This role will work directly with senior leadership to assist in executing a phased, regulator-aligned pathway to obtaining an OCC bank charter, including preparation for Federal Reserve oversight.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with OCC chartering (or similar bank licensing processes) and is comfortable operating across strategy, regulatory preparation, and execution support in a fast-moving advisory environment.

Candidates without direct experience supporting bank charter applications (OCC, FDIC, or state) will not be considered.

Aligned with a multi-phase charter process (feasibility → foundation → engagement → application), responsibilities include:

  • Supporting development of bank business plans, governance frameworks, and operating models
  • Assisting with capital strategy materials and investor-facing documentation
  • Coordinating inputs across stakeholders (legal, compliance, advisors)
  • Helping maintain structured workplans, milestones, and decision gates

Required Qualifications

  • Direct experience supporting bank charter applications with the OCC (strongly preferred)

  • 5+ years of experience in one or more of:
  • Banking regulatory consulting
  • Financial services strategy
  • Risk, compliance, or governance programs
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Bank formation and de novo charter processes
  • Regulatory expectations for governance, capital, and compliance frameworks

Work Structure

  • Part-time (flexible hours)
  • Remote with light travel (primarily for key meetings or regulatory engagement)
  • Duration aligned to charter phases (initial 6–12 months with potential extension)

Compensation

  • Competitive hourly or monthly retainer based on experience

Ideal Candidate Profile

You are someone who:

  • Has been through (or close to) an OCC charter process
  • Can operate independently in an ambiguous, high-stakes regulatory environment
  • Is detail-oriented but can also think strategically about regulatory positioning
  • Is comfortable working closely with senior executives and external advisors
