Washington, DC – September 14, 2026 – Porta Strategies is pleased to announce that Hany Ghanem has joined the firm’s Advisory Board as Advisor for Geopolitical Risk, Investments & Emerging Threats.
Hany brings more than a decade of experience spanning investment due diligence, financial crime risk management, regulatory compliance, geopolitical analysis, and strategic intelligence. Throughout his career, he has advised financial institutions, investment firms, and global organizations on complex risk environments, emerging threats, and high-stakes decision-making.
Most recently, Hany served as an Associate Director within the Client Intelligence Group at UBS, where he co-led a global team responsible for regulatory compliance, sanctions, anti-money laundering, corruption risk, and geopolitical due diligence reviews across a federally supervised financial institution.
He previously held senior roles at Cambridge Associates and Exiger, conducting investment and operational due diligence, risk assessments, governance reviews, and investigative research across global markets.
In addition to his private-sector experience, Hany serves as a Nonresident Senior Fellow with the Atlantic Council’s Middle East Programs, where his research focuses on energy security, geopolitical developments, and emerging global risks. He also serves as a Senior Advisor to Tesari AI, supporting innovation at the intersection of technology, intelligence, and strategic risk.
Hany holds a Master of Arts in Global Risk from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), and has been recognized as a Middle East Policy Council 40 Under 40 Awardee.
